MANGALORE: In a controversial demand that may spark widespread uproar, a less popular Hindutva outfit has called for a strict ban on dawn Azan (Fajr prayer call from Masjids)across India. Recently, dozens of Hindutva activists including a controversial swamiji, who had earlier tried to commit suicide, staged a protest in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner in Mangalore to pressurize the authorities concerned to strictly impose ban on Azan during early morning.

NEW DELHI: "Total change" in education complete with new textbooks and a new pedagogy that promotes modernity with Indian base is what has been demanded by the RSS-affiliated Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) from the new government. RSS pracharak Dinanath Batra of SSUN, who also runs Shiksha Bachao Andolan, told TOI, "I am meeting Narendra Modiji after the swearing-in. We have already sent our demands. Political change has taken place, now there should be total revamp of education."

A day after a youth in Goa got into trouble for allegedly posting anti-Narendra Modi comments, three MBA students from Karwar in Karnataka have been detained for questioning for a similar offence.
The Karwar police detained three MBA students for allegedly sending out anti-Modi messages following a complaint. The police is trying to find out if these messages were intended to disrupt peace and harmony or create communal tension.
A youth from Goa was was detained two days back for allegedly posting anti-Modi content on his Facebook account.

ABVP Activists Vandalise Seminar Venue in Patna PDF Print E-mail

PATNA: Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Saturday ransacked the venue of a seminar here, which was organised to discuss the arrest of a Delhi University professor for his alleged links with Maoists.
Shouting slogans like 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram', over three dozen ABVP activists forcibly entered the seminar room and damaged property.
