Hari MasjidMumbai:  The storm brewed out of the  Maharashtra government's decision to obtain a stay from the Supreme Court (SC) on the ongoing CBI enquiry into the Hari Masjid firing case is far from over. After the criticism the decision received from the opposition parties and lawyers, Wednesday it was Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) which came down heavily on the state govt. for its controversial decision. Questioning the government’s stand that the departmental enquiry did not find any evidence against the accused, Advocate Yusuf Machala asked, “How can one believe an enquiry based solely on the statements of police personnel and having not a single account of the affected people?”

Worshippers at heritage mosques, such as the 14th century Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, was outlawed in 1958. NEW DELHI. In a stricter implementation of a 1958 law that forbids prayer at India’s many protected monuments, the government has stopped Muslims from worshipping at heritage mosques in Delhi, sometimes by force. Amid a continuing stand-off between the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the group that designates sites as protected, and Islamic organisations, the federal government has said that the use of the protected mosques for daily prayers was speeding their decay and disturbing badly needed upkeep of the monuments.

Four arrested for hoisting green flag over muslim tomb PDF Print E-mail

Hindu activists burning a Muslim Flag thinking that it as a Pakistan FlagSept 7, 2009.  Four Muslims have been arrested for hoisting a green flag with crescent over a  muslim shrine in Umreth town  in Anand district today. Anand is some 75 km from Gujarat's capital Gandhinagar. Gujarat state police is one of the most infamous in the countrly, which regularly target minorities and human right activists.

Many Hindutva fanatics in India misguide public and security officials about green flag with crescent and moon as Pakistan national flag.  Sangh parivar organizations regularly use such tactics to promote their narrow nationalism and to question  patriotism of Indian muslims.

Award for Genocide?NEW YORK: Indian Muslim Council - USA,  an advocacy group working towards safeguarding India's pluralist and tolerant ethos, called the decision of fDi magazine not to honor Narendra Modi the Asian Personality of 2009 award as a step in the right direction. IMC-USA further urged fDi Magazine to cancel the amended award to the State of Gujarat in lieu of Narendra Modi.

Hindu extemists attack christian run hostel PDF Print E-mail

MUMBAI, India (BP)--Police in India's Karnataka state, accompanied by 10 Hindu extremists, arrested the Christian operator of a boys' hostel Aug. 28 after the extremists accused him and another Christian of offering food, shelter, education and future job prospects as an "allurement" to convert to Christianity.
