Save the Children’s Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme in India is set up to protect the rights of children, their families and their communities affected by the tsunami; to support their recovery and rehabilitation and to reduce the vulnerability of communities to future disasters in the affected coastal communities in the states and territories of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Andhra Pradesh.

As Child Protection Adviser, you will provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure that child protection is a cross-cutting concern in all components of the TRP as well as ensure child protection work implemented by partners and staff of SC is of the highest standards and follow SC policies and child rights programming principles. You will also build the capacity of staff and partners and ensure that proper monitoring and documentation of the processes, impact and lessons learnt for child protection is undertaken. You will identify and lead on areas of research; review or develop proposals and lead advocacy in relation to child protection issues arising out of the TRP experience.

The post requires strong analytical and conceptual skills with at least 3 years demonstrated experience of working with a diverse staff team, partners and other external stakeholders, including governments as well as experience of working with children’s groups and networks.
